Seriously, What A Party!

Beer lovers unite

Wow, did we have fun at the Winking Lizard World Tour of Beer Finisher’s Party last Saturday night.  For starters, we enjoyed playing in front of over 1,200 enthusiastic partygoers.  And it was in the club level of Cleveland Browns stadium.  And there was great food.  AND did we mention that there was BEER!?

Yes, the word of the night was “Hoegaarden” – that somehow provided us noe end of amusement and worked its way into way too many lyrics to mention.  To get an idea of the size of this shindig, click on the thumbnail to check out the panoramic view (with the helpful pointer showing where we were situated):

Winking Lizard Party Panorama

Yes, it was a memorable experience capped by having people actually help us load our gear out at the end of the night (although Mike “Brown Note” Crow got a little rambunctious with his ‘metro’ cart there at the end).

We’re definitely looking forward to more Winking Lizard get-togethers in 2009, and we certainly hope that you’ll come out and join in the fun.  And stop being such a Hoegaarden already!

Pics will be posted soon, so stop back.

UPDATE: Pics are posted!  Enjoy.

What a Party!

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

We had a phenomenal time this past Saturday entertaining more than 1,200 attendees of the Winking Lizard World Tour Finisher’s Party at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Unfortunately our resident web updater/keyboardist got bit by a nasty flu bug that’s delayed the details of the update.  We should have pictures and details posted in the next day or so, so please stand by!

Winter Heatwave in Medina

Party in Medina

OMFG was it hot at Johnny Malloy’s in Medina on Saturday night!  Even though the temperature outside was in the teens, the chemically delicious combination of Skinny Moo and the awesome crowd turned the place into a sweaty love shack. Many beverages were quaffed, numerous songs appeared in the midst of other songs, dances were danced, and the whole evening was one big party.

Thanks to everyone who came out, from old friends to new, Medina to Rawiga. We promise that next time we’ll have a fresh supply of Skinny Moo LIVE CDs, some number two pencils and enough chewing gum for everybody in the class.

Pics will be posted soon in the gallery, so stay tuned!

Skinny and Sly

Sly Fox Peeps

Despite the weather on Saturday evening, which dumped at least 10 inches of snow all over the place, we had a great crowd at the Sly Fox in North Olmsted.  Big props go out to our Medina fans who rocked the whole evening after coming up in a limo.  Too cool. Thanks to everyone else that came out, as well as the great staff at the Sly Fox.

We also have to give Jay credit for a great performance only a few days after some, er, surgery.  We shot some video, which we’ll be posting at some point, and Jay’s energy level seems as strong as ever.  We want whatever it is that he’s taking, because the rest of us are pretty well spent at the end of the night:

Here’s hoping the weather’s a little less blustery when we return to Medina this Saturday night!

The Jigsaw Puzzle

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Man, did we have a good time at the Jigsaw Saloon in Parma last Friday.  Except for Scotty, who had a little bit too much fun on New Year’s Day and was paying for it a day later.

The Jigsaw is a really cool club.  There’s a restaurant on one side and a fantastic concert club on the other.  The concert club looks like it may have been a bowling alley back in the day – it’s a long room with a raised stage at one end, the sound board in the middle (along with some tall bar stools and a couple supremely cool looking booths), and a bar at the other end.

While the club looks like it generally hosts original acts, we felt right at home: PBR, great sound, cool people.  It was kind of a quiet night (lots of folks, including one in the band, were apparently partied out), but we really look forward to playing there again and bringing loads of people with us to hang out, enjoy the cool environment and listen to the Moo in high fidelity.

Happy New Year!

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

We want to wish everyone a happy New Year!  We brought in 2009 in style at the world-famous Greenville Inn, along with all our friends, new and old.

Happy Moose Year 2009

Highlights included:

  • The unusual combination of Three Dog Night’s “Mama Told Me Not To Come” with Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue
  • A surprise delivery of Neil Diamond (“Coming To America“) at the end of the Michael Jackson medley that showed up at the end of the Doobie Brothers’ “Long Train Running
  • A “Stump the Band” winner.  After some early suggestions including “Piano Man” and “Brown Eyed Girl” (which really belong in the no-band-will-be-stumped-by-these-songs bin) we were finally stymied by a request for “Green Eyed Lady“.  While we each know the song, we couldn’t quite get it together enough as a group to pass muster.  Now we’ll have to learn it for real.

We’re looking forward to a phenomenal 2009.  We’ve got loads of shows booked already, and we’ll be working up some insane new material to cement our reputation as the band that makes music more fun.

Want to come out and join the party?  Sign up on our email list and we’ll keep you posted with upcoming show dates and locations.  We’re looking forward to catching up with you at an upcoming gig!

UPDATE: Pics from the show are posted in the gallery.
