A lot of “firsts” at the Greenville

This past weekend we had a crazy night at Chagrin’s own Greenville Inn. It was an evening filled with “firsts”:

It was the first time we ever share the night with another band. Our friends The Props came out to play a set to start the night. They were great, and were a huge help to us all night.
It was the first time we have played a gig without Charley. Unfortunately Charley is temporarily out of action with some leg problems, so we had Steve Renko fill in for him. Steve did a tremendous job and rocked out all night. Thanks Steve!
It was the first time we’ve seen the Greenville decorated for a birthday party. Our friend Karen had her birthday at the ‘Ville, complete with purple paper covering the tables, balloons everywhere, and tons and tons of food. Note to the hungry drunk dudes at the end of the night: thank her for the grub!
It was the first time we didn’t have to gaff-tape our power supply plug to the outlet. Yes, in an historic moment, Mike convinced the Greenville ownership to replace the ancient outlet on the stage. For almost 10 years, that outlet has been the bane of our gigs there because you’d plug in your gear… and the plug would just slide back out. Unfortunately this happened a couple times during the Props’ set, taking out the PA while they were playing. As we switched over and prepared to play, the Greenville management replaced the outlet. Valhalla!

We’re looking forward to another unusual return to the Greenville in May: we’ll be playing on a Thursday evening on May 24 for the Chagrin Blossom Time festival. We hope you can join us for the fun!

Kickin’ it with the Fox 8 Morning Crew

We’re excited that Cleveland’s own FOX 8 News in the Morning has invited Skinny Moo back for a 5th time. Watch as we inaugurate Kristi Capel into the Skinny Moo Culture. Tune in Friday Morning, June 1, 2012 between 7:30 and 9:00 am. Who knows – maybe a duet with the infamous Todd Meany? A Dance off between Jayfro and Wayne Dawson?

Brew Garden is CANCELLED

Due to some scheduling snafus, we will NOT be playing at the Brew Garden this weekend (either in Parma or Middleburg Heights, we forget which). We’ll miss you all, and we look forward to catching you at the legendary Greenville Inn on April 21.

We are excited to be getting into some new material that we hope will inspire you to shake your booty relentlessly – stay tuned for details!

Happy green beer day

We had a stellar holiday show last weekend at the Greenville at our annual St. Patrick’s Day show. The place was full of party people who danced all night, and only fell down a few times! Hey, nothing got broken so it was all good!

Skinny Moo <3 Medina

Medina crowds are tough to beat.

Woo, we’re just now recovering from Saturday night.

We had a great show in Medina at Johnny Malloy’s: the dance floor was packed all night long, we saw lots of old friends, and we made some new friends too! And of course we all had an absolute blast playing our special brand of music for everyone.

It was also really cool to have a couple folks sit in, one on trumpet (adding a decidedly cool turn to “Pink Cadillac”) and one on drums. And it was a pleasure to hear a number of people tell us how much they were enjoying our performance. Oh, and to everyone who bought MOO t-shirts, thank you! Wear them proudly…

Lucky 14

We had a great night at the Greenville Inn in Chagrin Falls on Saturday the 14th. Thanks to everyone who came out and packed the place for our first couple of sets. It was great to see everyone despite the weather.

Extra special thanks to the die-hards that stuck around for the last set, even though the snow continued to fall. We hope everyone made it home safe and sound.

We’re very much looking forward to our return to the ‘Ville on St. Patrick’s Day this year. We look forward to an awesome Saturday evening on March 17th, and hope you’ll join us in your best Green(ville)ery.

Breaking in the Greenville, 2012 style

We’re excited to start 2012 off at one of our favorite places to play: Chagrin’s Greenville Inn. Join us there on Saturday the 14th (we sneakily avoided the “unlucky” Friday the 13th gig!) and enjoy fun, funk, funny dancing on the tables, and a fundamentally good time.

By the way, we will be returning to the Greenville this year for our annual St. Patrick’s Day show. The last several years, the holiday has fallen on some decidedly non-party days of the week. This year, though…

St. Patrick’s Day is on Saturday. Holy $#1@! Finally we can all sleep off our green-beer hangovers in peace!

Anyway, we hope we’ll see you this Saturday night, and that you’ll mark your calendars to join us on March 17th too!

Here's to a bubbly new year...

We hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year’s Eve celebration. We’re looking forward to a new year, some new venues, and new music to play.

Speaking of new venues, you’ve got to check out the newly renovated Brew Garden in Parma. They have done an outstanding job turning it into a venue with a cool atmosphere, a huge selection (dare I say “garden”?) of beer, and excellent food. We’re looking forward to getting back there on February 18th, so mark your calendars and join us at the intersection of Ridge and Pearl Roads.

Meanwhile, with the onset of some actual winter weather, we’re looking forward to heating things up on Saturday January 14th at the Greenville. Maybe when we’re there, the rest of the band will join Scotty in a rousing chorus of “She Drives Me Crazy”.
