The Winking Lizard Patio

It feels like summer is finally arriving, and just to confirm that, it’s time for us to kick off the Winking Lizard Summer Concert Series in the Bedford Heights location.

As we have for several years, we will perform on the Winking Lizard’s lush patio starting at 5PM. We hope you will come out and enjoy our music and the delicious food and wide array of beverages that the Winking Lizard has to offer.

We hope to see you there!

Join us tonight for our annual Christmas in July show at the Winking Lizard in Bedford Heights. As always, there will be excellent food and beverage choices on the patio, along with our always-entertaining antics.

Tomorrow night we return to the Greenville Inn for a hot summer show, so be prepared to climb up on those picnic tables and shake your boo-tay!

Friday 5/24 Winking Lizard show moved to LAKEWOOD

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013

Due to chilly weather forecasts for this Friday May 24th, our Winking Lizard show originally scheduled for the Bedford Heights location has been moved to the Lakewood location:

14018 Detroit Avenue
Lakewood, OH 44107
(216) 226-6693
We are excited to play on the west side – it’s certainly been a while – so let your west side friends know we’ll be hitting the stage at 7:30. We hope to see you there!

Those patios rocked!

We want to thank all the folks who came out to the Winking Lizard on Friday and the Galaxy on Saturday. Both nights were fun, fantastic, and occasionally freaky (we’re talking to you, mister-dude-that-fell-in-BILL’s-lap-and-busted-his-chair). We enjoyed the hell out of the shows and hope you did, too.

We’re looking forward to our final summer concert series event at the Winking Lizard on September 21st, so we hope you’ll plan to be there. But before that, we’ve got a Greenville show (Saturday September 1) and a show at Johnny Malloy’s in Medina (Saturday September 8). Don’t miss Charley’s long-awaited return to the drum throne at the ‘Ville!

Meanwhile, we posted some pics from Saturday night for your viewing pleasure…

Summer lovin’

The Juice, he is how you say, a rock star?

Ah yes, everyone’s back from vacation and we convened at the Winking Lizard on Friday evening for food, drinks and some entertainment from the Moo machine.

Some highlights included a mind-bending insertion of “You Shook Me All Night Long” (AC/DC) in “Everyday People” (Sly and the Family Stone) with lyrics from “Celebration” (Kool & the Gang) superimposed on top. It was, like, trippy.

There was also the impromptu serenade of a lady in the crowd. Jay noticed that she and the rest of her table were sitting in front of one of the main speakers, from which had been issuing the sound of controlled Skinny Moo chaos all night at, er, noticeable volume. In an effort to give this particular guest a break Jay offered to play something a little more mellow. Weren’t we surprised when she somehow requested the Commodores “Easy (Like Sunday Morning)”! Not as surprised as when we played it!

It was great to see a lot of our friends and family members at the show, and once again we have to thank the staff at the Winking Lizard for great hospitality, food and drinks.

We look forward to our last show of the season there on Friday September 16.

Looks like we maaaade it!

Whoo, what a weekend. It’s taken a few days to just recover from our Saturday night at the Greenville Inn. We will forever remember the ‘Ville as the place we would most likely want to spend the actual end of the world.

Coming right up: the kickoff of the Winking Lizard’s Summer Concert Series! Join us on Friday at 5:30 PM on the patio outside the Bedford Heights Winking Lizard for an all-ages show that will undoubtedly be full of surprises.

And on Saturday we will return to Johnny Malloy’s in Medina, dressed as the Village People*. That’s a show you won’t want to miss!

*Pure speculation, don’t get your hopes up.

Skinny Moo rocks July

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

The guys at Skinny Moo HQ would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day weekend. Don’t burn yourself out during the holiday, though, because there’s lots of Skinny Moo coming your way in July.

We make our first appearance at Rockin’ On the River in Cuyahoga Falls on Friday July 9th. Details are forthcoming.

We return to Slim and Chubby’s in Strongsville on Saturday July 10th, the Bedford Winking Lizard and Greenville Inn on the 16th and 17th respectively, and return to Medina’s fabled Rally in the Alley on the 23rd.

We’ll cap off the month with another appearance at Legends in Medina as well.

Check the schedule page for more details. As always, we look forward to seeing you at the shows.

We’re Back: Winking Lizard Summer Concerts

Friday, February 5th, 2010

We’re happy to announce that the Winking Lizard has invited us back to hang out on their patio and play music for another season this summer. This is one of our favorite shows not only because the Winking Lizard folks are awesome, but because it’s an earlier – “all-ages” show where JayFro disproves Charley’s theory that Jager-Bombs make him involuntarily make inappropriate gestures and other random vulgarities.

Mark your calendars May 28th, July 16th & August 20th from 6-10pm. See you there.

Not Quite the “Riot House”, but Close

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Woo HA!  We had ourselves quite the rock and roll weekend, how about you?

On Friday we ventured to Aurora for a private party.  Correction: most of us went to Aurora.  The Deuce somehow missed the “Aurora” memo and called us from “Avon” to say he couldn’t find the gig.

A short, panic-stricken while later, our favorite guitar slinger managed to get across town to the right place.  We proceeded to get all hot and sweaty while rocking out to a room full of crazed party-goers.  It was allegedly a birthday party for a couple lovely ladies, but deep down we think it was just an excuse to get crazy in private with Skinny Moo!

NOTE to Aurora party people: Remember, you can get crazy with Skinny Moo in public on November 21st at the Greenville Inn!

On Saturday, after recovering our wits, we hauled our traveling music emporium to the Cleveland Arcade, home to the Hyatt Regency and the conclusion of this year’s Cleveland Beer Week, touchingly called Brewzilla.  While there hasn’t been a mud shark incident, the Arcade is something of our own “Riot House“.  Each time we play there we seem to wind up having some… issues.

This time around, everything was great until a few songs into our third set.  We had been situated on the second floor balcony, far above the throngs of craft-beer tasters.  We (and our PA) were close, however, to the rooms at our end of the Arcade.  Maybe a little too close.  A few songs into the last set, we each noticed hotel security, and possibly the hotel manager, standing motionless behind us.

Um, zoinks.

Was it the array of beverage containers (we swear, they were all promos from the, err, glassware vendors at the show)?  Was it the stirring low frequencies of Herr Baron Von Braune Noteh?  Was it the ear-shredding rock emanating from the Deuce’s JCM 800?

Frankly, we’re not sure.  The bottom line is that we had to shut down, after doing a whispery and truncated version of Weezer’s “Beverly Hills”, into which we were planning to insert a special tribute to Brewzilla.  *sigh*

There may have been some complaints about the proximity of the music.  We just have to assume that those people don’t like music, beer, or Cleveland for that matter.

NOTE to angry hotel-stayers: Beer = good.  Music = Better.  Both = happy happy! Please seek help!

All kidding aside, we had a great time, and hope no one was permanently damaged by the evening.  As always, the Winking Lizard puts on a well-organized and classy event, and we’re always grateful to be a part of it.  Here’s to future Brewzilla action!
